Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AusBudget Pro, developed by Abdul Muqtadir (WitWeb Solutions), handles your information. By using the application you agree to the practices described below.

1. About This Application

AusBudget Pro is a personal finance tracking application purpose-built for the Australian market. It allows users to record income streams, log transactions (including GST), and visualise cash flow across Australian financial years (1 July to 30 June).

The application is developed and operated by Abdul Muqtadir (WitWeb Solutions), trading as WitWeb Solutions (witweb.com.au).

AusBudget Pro aims to handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 of that Act.

This application is a demonstration/portfolio project. It is not a registered financial service and does not provide regulated financial advice. See the Disclaimer for full details.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

Authentication is handled by Clerk (clerk.com). When you create an account or sign in, Clerk collects and stores:

  • Email address
  • Name (if provided)
  • Profile photo (if provided via OAuth)
  • Session tokens and device information for authentication

Clerk's own privacy policy applies to this data:clerk.com/legal/privacy.

2.2 Financial Data

All financial data you enter into the app, including income streams, expense categories, transaction amounts, descriptions, and dates, is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database.

This data is associated with your Clerk user ID. It is not shared with any third party for commercial or marketing purposes.

Important: You should not enter banking credentials, Tax File Numbers (TFNs), superannuation account numbers, or other sensitive government identifiers into this application. It is designed for recording amounts and categories only.

2.3 Analytics Data

AusBudget Pro uses PostHog to collect anonymised usage analytics including:

  • Page views and navigation events
  • Feature usage (e.g. which tax year was selected)
  • Session duration

No financial amounts or personal identifiers are sent to PostHog. PostHog's privacy policy:posthog.com/privacy.

2.4 Error Reporting

Application errors are reported to Sentry for debugging purposes. Error reports may include browser information, the page where the error occurred, and a stack trace. Sentry's privacy policy:sentry.io/privacy.
